Are you tired of the same old Taco Tuesday routine? Craving something bold, spicy, and utterly satisfying? Look no further than our Harissa Beef on Pita Bread with Mediterranean Feta Cheese. This isn't your typical taco night!

  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef
  • 4 Large Pita Bread, cut in half
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small white onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup shaved carrots
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons Shawarma spice blend
  • 1 Goya Sazon Culantro y Achiote Packet
  • 1 tablespoon double-concentrated tomato paste
  • 1-2 tablespoons of (Mild) Harissa Sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Mediterranean Herb Feta Cheese Crumbles
  • 1/2 cup lettuce or spinach, chopped finely
  • Kosher Salt, to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp spicy harissa tahini
  • 1 tbsp curly parsley, chopped

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions, minced garlic, and shaved carrots, cooking until onions are translucent.
  3. Add the extra lean ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in cumin, Shawarma spice blend, Goya Sazon Culantro y Achiote Packet, and double concentrated tomato paste. Mix well to incorporate the flavors.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and add your favorite pre-made (Mild) Harissa Sauce. Allow the mixture to simmer until the liquid reduces and the flavors meld. I like to add the sea salt last as the sauce may have enough flavor without salt.
  6. After allowing the beef to simmer for at least 15 minutes, place the pita bread on a baking sheet. Brush them lightly with olive oil.
  7. Spoon the harissa beef mixture onto the pita bread, spreading it evenly.
  8. Sprinkle feta cheese over the top of each pita bread.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes or until the edges of the pita bread are golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and top with fresh lettuce or spinach.
  11. Drizzle spicy harissa tahini over the pita bread.
  12. Garnish with chopped cilantro and parsley.
  13. Slice and serve your delicious Harissa Beef On Pita Bread with Mediterranean Feta Cheese, Fold it up and eat each piece like a taco! Enjoy!
